Frothy Milk | The Ordinary Moments

As parents to three children, coffee is a big part of our lives. It’s kind of like the third person in our relationship. The one that says ‘it’s ok, stop looking at him like you want to impail him on a sharp stick, he only asked if you slept ok, he means well’……… It’s safe to say we owe a lot to our coffee machine.

I’m actually more of a tea drinker. But for a special weekend treat, and those mornings when tea just isn’t doing it, you can’t beat a good old frothy coffee.

One day Carl had the idea to make the girls a little cup of frothy milk when we had our coffee. He put a tiny bit of caramel syrup in it and of course, they were huge fans.

Greta loves to help make it, I think she enjoys the process of making it as much as actually drinking it. Especially the big fluffy clouds of steam that rise up. ‘Ooh clouds Daddy look!’. It’s become one of their things (they have quite a few ‘things’ she’s definitely a Daddy’s girl).

Carl keeps trying to show me how to make them but I still don’t know. It’s not that I’m stupid or lazy, I just think it’s nice to keep it as a treat thing that only Daddy does at the weekend. If I start making them all week it will soon take the magic out of it.

With bed hair and in pjs is the best way to enjoy frothy milk

Yes it is a lovely little habit we’ve got into, I hope we continue it too 😊 x

Aw this is so cute and I agree we are similar with smoothies, Mr E could show me how to make them but I like the fact they are a weekend treat we all enjoy. My girls for some reason don’t like the babychinnos you get at Pizza Express which is a shame as Mr E got a nice new coffee machine for christmas and could have made them some. x

Yep, you’ve got to keep some things as a treat haven’t you, otherwise it stops being special. I think it’s the little bit of caramel syrup in them that they love the most 😉 x

Aww, I’ve somehow avoided coffee. I’m straight hot chocolate with the occasional tea! If there was something Daddy could do that I couldn’t I would definitely be ok with that especially since you spend most your time with them! One less thing!

Kids love having something the same as mummy and daddy don’t they? Especially Greta loves anything Daddy has… X
