This is another quick look back on the last month and then a look forward into what I’m hoping June will bring us (I know it’s late, surely you’ve come to expect that from us by now!). I’ve decided not to set out monthly intentions here anymore because I’m using my new bullet journal for goal setting now (let me know if you’d like a peak inside that though), so this is just going to be a more general and probably rambling post.
Here are my favourite photos from my Instagram in May…
May was a really good month weather wise and we got to have a lot of outdoor adventures which were great fun and I also had a lot of chances to practice my photography which made me happy. We were still slightly plagued by coughs and colds though, but we are all now on some new vitamins so I’m hoping that will help. I didn’t accomplish many of the goals that I set out at the beginning of May, but that’s ok. It’s more important to me that when I look back over the month I have happy times to remember and there were definitely lots of those in May. Getting out and about, into nature and having adventures is really important to me, it’s the kind of childhood I want my children to enjoy, and the kind of memories that I need us to share. May was the month of playing in the garden, picnics, frolicking on a hillside, yellow fields, royal tea parties, and Butlins! It was definitely a month of having fun, just how I like it and just what we needed.
Every month that passes as a family of five, I feel like we slot more pieces of our crazy erratic life into place. It’s been a slow process, much slower than I’d like if I’m honest, but I feel like finally we are getting somewhere with getting into a routine and finding our rhythm and May felt like a bit of a turning point in that.
We’ve made quite a few videos this month over on our YouTube Channel, but I also made this montage of the little clips I’ve taken in May that didn’t make it into any of our other videos.
In June I am really looking forward to cooking and experimenting in the kitchen a bit more, doing some more learning activities with the girls especially Mabel, and having lots more adventures! We also have a little trip up to Alton Towers for one night (or as Mabel calls it ‘CBeebies Land, also known as Alton Towers’) to go on this month which we are all so excited about!
In June Ernie will turn 6 months and Greta will turn 2 and a half, my 2 youngest babies are growing up. I can’t quite believe how quickly the last 6 months have gone, both Ernie and Greta constantly surprise me with the new things they can suddenly do. The first half of the year has been brilliant, but I have a little feeling that the last half is going to be even better!
